Preeti Caberwal is an author living in Northern California with her husband and three spirited kids.

Her favorite childhood memories are of the summers she spent with her family in Punjab, India, where they’d spend days looking at rolls of colorful textiles, designing their own outfits, eating delicious food with family and friends, and falling asleep to folktales their grandmother told.

Professionally, she spent 15 years as a merchant and curator at companies ranging from Saks Fifth Avenue to Target before shifting gears to storytelling, in order to create more diversity and representation in her kids’ lives.

The beauty, culture, and warmth of India inspired her to write The City of Dreams, her first chapter book.
